Is it just me, or are cacti somewhat trendy at the moment? There are lots of different crocheted cacti out there and it's easy to see why. They're so cute! So when I decided that I wanted to use a little cactus for my next crochet project, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to join the "Crochet Cactus Cool Kid Club" and design one of my own. It took a bit of trial and error, but I love how this adorable little appliqué turned out!
It's no secret that I love felt boards. They're one of my very favorite toys because the possibilities are basically endless! If you haven't checked out my felt board tutorial yet, you should go take a look (spoiler alert: felt boards are really easy and inexpensive to make). Or, if you're already a proud owner of a felt board, here are a couple of easy ideas for felt board games you can make yourself!
I've been in a bit of crocheting rut lately. I let myself get down about how the blog's going (I don't get compensated in any way for this blog, so it's easy to fall down the external validation rabbit hole, since there's not really anything else to reward my efforts). But then I remembered some really excellent advice I got from my creative writing professor, back in the day. He told us to just write what we would want to read; doing what interests you will always give better results than trying to please your audience. So I decided to get back to something I love with my next crochet project and make myself a eukaryotic cell pillow. Biology nerd for life!
It's finally starting to actually feel like spring around these parts (thank goodness). The snow has melted, the days are warmer, and the trees are starting to bud. I even saw some dandelions today! To celebrate the end of the winter doldrums, my toddler and I made this fun flower wreath for our door. It's a cute, simple craft that's basically free, since it's made from things that were just going into the dumpster anyway. What's not to love?
Hello and thank you for stopping by to visit my own personal corner of the web. Feel free to take a look around and check out what I've been crafting, crocheting, or cooking up. Hopefully you'll find something to inspire your own creativity!
