Happy spring, yarn friends! It feels like we're already creeping into summer around here in Arizona (we hit our first 90 degree day last week), but I'm determined to enjoy spring for as long as I can. There's nothing quite like watching all of the trees grow new leaves and seeing all the flowers blossom. It's seriously magical. So in honor of spring, I have a spring-themed crochet pattern for you all: a hatching chick plushy!

January has flown by and with Valentine's day approaching, now seems like the perfect time to share this crochet pattern that I've been sitting on for the last while. Meet the Huggable Heart Plushy! This heart is the perfect size for hugs and can be customized with whatever color or face design you'd like. Or you can leave off the face entirely; it'll still look great. My kids love this one and I hope you will too!
Hello, internet! It's been FAR too long since this blog was updated. A special thanks to all of you who have been patiently supporting my blog in my absence! Seeing your projects makes my day and it's always an honor to have someone choose to make one of my patterns. So thank you for keeping this creativity going while I was away. I'm super glad to be back though! To kick things off (again), I wanted to share a cute, cuddly, festive (free!) crochet pattern with you all. Meet the Snuggly Snowman!
Halloween will be here soon, and like most things this year, it's looking a little different than usual. We're still evaluating options and looking to see how things are going when we get closer to the actual date, but we thought it might be prudent to brainstorm some plan B options. One idea is to have a candy hunt at home (think Easter egg hunt, minus the bunny). So I thought it would be fun to crochet some Halloween-themed treat bags that we can put candy in and hide around the house. Originally I was going to make them super cute, with all the adorable details...until I remembered that it's 2020 and ain't nobody got time for that. So I went super simple on these. There are a couple of cute details, but they're all crocheted on as you make the bag itself with no extra sewing involved. Whether you're hiding candies or just giving out treats to someone, these little Halloween bags are the perfect quick project.
I don't know about you all, but I think I could use some extra joy and goodness lately. So when I came across Rachel Borello Carroll's A Little Kindness Monster, I knew that I wanted to create a cute but easy crocheted friend with the same basic purpose: a small softy that you can give away to others! In homage to Rachel's pattern, I'm calling this cutie "A Little Love Monster." So you can send A Little Love to someone in the mail. Or you can drop off A Little Love on someone's doorstep. Or you can give A Little Love to someone to make their day a bit brighter. Or you can even just keep A Little Love for yourself. Because a Little more Love never hurt.
I've been struggling to find the creative energy/motivation to crochet anything lately, but I still wanted to make some sort of wall hanging for my daughter's room. And if there's one craft material I have on hand, it's yarn. So I created a super simple design by braiding together some of my scrap yarn! This wall hanging is ridiculously easy and quick and can be made in any color combo you feel like using, and you can personalize it with as many (or as few) braids as you'd like to add. So if you don't feel up to crocheting or if you just want something unique, you can make your own braided wall hanging!
